In Goa News

In Goa News is run out of a small space at Shop No. E in Yashwant Niwas, right here in Mapsa. It is not a huge newsroom like you see on television; it is mostly just a couple of desks, some computers, and a lot of notebooks lying around. We spend our time keeping track of what is happening in the local area and trying to get the facts right before we tell anyone else. Mapsa is a lively place, so there is usually something going on at the market or in the local council that needs a bit of attention. People often drop by the shop to tell us about things happening in their neighborhoods or just to have a chat about the latest events. We don't have a big team of reporters, so we end up doing a bit of everything ourselves, from taking photos to typing up the stories late at night. The office can get a bit cluttered with newspapers and old files, but we know where everything is. It feels good to be right in the middle of town where we can see what is happening out the window. We aren't trying to be a massive media outlet; we just want to keep the local folks informed about the stuff that actually matters to them in their daily lives.
