Man Singh Ice Cream

Our shop, Man Singh Ice Cream, is Shop No. 3 in the Ram Nagar area of Taluka Hodal. We are over near the Shani Dev Mandir, so we see a lot of people who are coming or going from their prayers. The area is usually full of activity, especially on the days when the temple is busy. Our shop is quite small and we have to make the most of the space we have. There are a few freezers pushed up against the back wall and a small area for us to stand behind the counter. Most of the day is spent waiting for the afternoon heat to bring people in. In Hodal, it can get very hot, so the ice cream is a popular thing for the locals. We don't have a big menu on the wall or anything, just what is in the cases. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to explain that to the customers, but usually, it’s fine. We have a few regulars who stop by every evening just to say hello and get the same thing they always get. It’s a quiet life in some ways, even with the temple crowds nearby. We just focus on keeping the machines running and the floor swept. It’s a basic business and we’ve been here at this spot in Ram Nagar for a good while now, just serving the people who pass by. It keeps us busy and we like the neighborhood.
