Sundaram & Company

Sundaram & Company is located at 46, Akkumariamman Koil Street in Pallapatti. The street is named after the temple nearby, so it’s easy to find. We are a small operation. We handle various goods and supplies that local businesses need. The building we are in is quite old, but it’s sturdy. We have a heavy iron door that we roll up every morning. It makes a lot of noise. Inside, the space is filled with boxes and ledgers. We still use paper books for most of our record-keeping. It’s just easier for us to track things that way. Pallapatti is a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We’ve been here long enough that we are part of the scenery. We don’t have any fancy displays in the window. Just some of the items we have in stock so people know what’s available. Most of our day is spent talking to people who come in or answering the landline. It’s a steady pace. We don’t rush around like they do in the big cities. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon gets a bit much, so we sit under the fan and take it easy for an hour. Then it’s back to work until it gets dark. We don’t have any big plans for expansion. We are happy with how things are right now at our spot on Akkumariamman Koil Street. The shop can be a bit dusty because of the goods we move.
