Sri Renuga Garments

Up here in Chithampalam, things are a bit quieter than in the big city. Sri Renuga Garments is located at No. 2/67 B Kulathottam. It’s a nice enough spot, though you have to drive a bit to get to us. We have a small setup where we do our garment work. It’s mostly family and a few local people from the village. We start early in the morning when it’s still cool outside. The air is better here than in Tirupur. We have our sewing tables set up near the windows to catch the light. It’s a simple life. We make our clothes, pack them up, and they get sent off to the bigger towns. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside near the garden area until it comes back on. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a room with machines and a lot of thread. My auntie usually brings us some food around midday. Chithampalam is a small place, so everyone knows what we are doing. We’ve been at 2/67 B for a few years now. The building is just a basic concrete structure, but it stays dry when it rains. We focus on getting the stitches right and making sure the fabric is clean. That’s about it for us. We just keep working until the light fades and then we head home to our families.
