The Millineum

We are located right on Manickampuram Road. If you are coming from J.K.J Colony, it is a pretty short walk. The Millineum has been in this spot for a good amount of time. It started out quite small, just a couple of shelves and a desk, but we have added more over the years. The road outside can get very dusty, especially in the summer months when there is no rain. We spend a lot of time just cleaning the glass and making sure the stock looks okay. It is mostly clothes we deal with, mainly the kind of stuff you would wear every day. I work here with two other people. We take turns opening up. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit in the afternoon, so we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. It gives us a chance to talk to the neighbors. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to us since we first opened. They know where everything is usually kept. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It's a simple setup. Some days are very quiet and we just organize the back room or check the ledger. Other days, like before festivals, it gets quite crowded in here. We just try to get through the day and make sure we have enough for the next one. It is a simple life and it keeps us busy.
