Ikon Tours Travels

You can find Ikon Tours Travels at No. 39/4325 on Manikiri Road. We are right over in Palimukku, just outside Prem Darwaja. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of traffic passing by the front door. Our office is small and filled with folders, old calendars, and some maps of places people like to go. We spend our time checking bus schedules and looking for train tickets for folks who walk in. It’s not a high-tech operation; we mostly use a couple of old computers and the phone. Sometimes the street noise makes it hard to hear, but we’re used to the bustle of Manikiri Road by now. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big waiting area. There are a couple of chairs for people to sit while we look things up. Most of the people who come in are neighbors or people who heard about us from someone else. We try to keep the prices fair and the paperwork simple. It gets hot in the afternoons, so the fan is always running. We’ve seen a lot of people head off on trips from this little office over the years. We just stay here at the desk, making sure the bookings are right and the dates are correct. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living in Palimukku. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it's quiet for hours.
