Vijaylaxmi Sweets

You will find Vijaylaxmi Sweets right in the Ranakpur Main Bazar in Sadari. Our kitchen stays warm all day because we are always boiling milk or making fresh batches of sugar syrup. The display cases are filled with whatever we finished making that morning. We don't use any pre-made mixes; everything is done by hand right here in the back. During festival times, the shop gets really hectic and we end up working late into the night just to keep the trays full. Sadari is a quiet place most of the time, but the bazar always has some life to it. We see a lot of people stopping by after they visit the temple or when they are traveling through. The floor can get a little sticky from the syrup, so we are constantly mopping and cleaning up. We have a few benches for people who want to eat their sweets right away. It’s a straightforward business. We don't have any fancy packaging or big signs. People know us because of where we are and what we make. Most of the recipes we use have been the same for as long as I can remember. It’s just us, the stove, and the daily routine of keeping the shop ready for whoever walks through the door in the Main Bazar. We like the work and the people who come to see us.
