Varsha Kirana Store

Varsha Kirana Store is a small spot over in Tagor Nagar. It’s the kind of place where neighbors stop by not just to buy stuff, but to have a quick chat about what’s going on in the street. I stock the basic things people run out of, like milk, bread, sugar, and tea leaves. The shelves are mostly wooden and I built a few of them myself. It isn't a fancy supermarket. It is just a room filled with the things families use every day. I keep the front area clear so people have space to stand while I get their items from the back. Tagor Nagar is a quiet area for the most part, which I like. I know exactly who is coming by the sound of their scooter or their walk. Sometimes I have to chase the stray dogs away from the entrance. The shop gets a lot of light in the morning, which makes it feel nice and bright inside. I don’t use any big signs or advertisements. The people who live here just know I’m here if they need something for dinner or a quick snack. I spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates and making sure everything is fresh. My desk is just a small table with a calculator and some change. It’s a humble way to make a living, but it keeps me connected to the people around here. I close up when the sun goes down and head back to my own family once the street gets quiet.
