If you’re looking for Surya Constructions, we’re right on Sumerpur Road, basically right by the Snow Cool Ice-Cream shop. That’s usually how I tell people to find us because everyone knows where to get ice cream. Our office is a bit more rugged than a typical shop. We’ve got boots by the door and hard hats on the pegs because we spend as much time out on the dirt as we do sitting at the desk. Construction isn't a clean job. There’s always dust on the paperwork and the sound of trucks passing by outside. I started this because I liked seeing things actually go up from the ground. We handle the heavy lifting and the coordination that most people don’t want to deal with. It’s a lot of checking on supplies and making sure the guys are doing what they’re supposed to do. Sometimes the weather ruins the schedule, and we have to sit around and wait for the rain to stop. Those are the days when we drink a lot of tea and talk about the next big build. We don't use a lot of big words or try to act like we’re something we aren't. We’re just builders who know the roads around here and how the local ground behaves. It’s hard work, but when a building finally stands on its own, it feels like we actually accomplished something real. We just keep at it day after day.
