Shree Krishna Dairy & Chach House

Shree Krishna Dairy & Chach House is located at Bhairughat 21, near the Gandhi Murti. We deal with milk and fresh buttermilk every single day of the week. My day begins very early, often around four or five in the morning, when the milk containers are delivered. The shop is filled with the sound of the big refrigerator and the clinking of metal cans. I spend a lot of my time cleaning the counters and the floor because you have to keep a dairy shop very clean. People from the Bhairughat area come by with their own containers to get their milk for the day. Our chach is very popular, especially when the weather gets hot, and we keep it cold in a special cooler. The walls of the shop are tiled, which makes it easier to wash them down. There’s a small bench where people can sit for a minute while they wait. The Gandhi Murti is a good landmark, so most people have no trouble finding us. I keep a simple ledger to write down the daily sales and who owes what. There isn't any fancy equipment here, just the fridge and the milk cans. I’ve been working in this dairy business since I was young and I’m used to the early hours. It’s a quiet life but it keeps the neighborhood supplied with what they need.
