Shivam Glass & Aluminum Fabrication

Nadol is a small place, so mostly everyone knows where the shop is, right near the police chowki. We spend our days dealing with sheets of glass and long aluminum sections. It’s a lot of measuring and then measuring again because if you mess up the cut, that’s it for that piece. The shop floor is always covered in tiny bits of metal shavings that get into your shoes. We do windows, frames, and whatever else people in the village or the surrounding tehsil need for their houses. It gets quite dusty here in Pali district, and cleaning the glass before it goes out takes a lot of time. We aren't a big factory; it is just a local spot where we handle the orders as they come in. Sometimes the sun hits the glass leaning against the wall and the whole shop gets blindingly bright for an hour or two. My back usually aches by the end of the day from lifting the heavy frames, but you get used to it. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the sign out front and the work we have done for neighbors over the years. People stop by to chat while we are working on a frame. It’s a simple way to make a living, just cutting and fitting things together. We try to keep things moving so nobody is waiting too long for their windows.
