About Sharma Dairy Farm – Food & Beverages in Pali
Life at Sharma Dairy Farm starts long before most people in the Housing Board are even awake. We are located in the Old Housing Board area, and the morning routine is pretty much the same every single day of the week. The cows need tending to, and the milk has to be ready for the neighbors who come by with their steel containers. It’s physical work. My clothes usually smell like the farm and the hay. There is always cleaning to be done, from the floors to the milking equipment. We don't have any big marketing slogans here. People just know us because they’ve been getting their milk from us for years. The air is different here in the Old Housing Board compared to the center of town. It’s a bit more open. Sometimes kids come by to see the animals while their parents are buying supplies. We have a few heavy fridges and some scales that have been used for a long time. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when the sun is hitting the roof. I don’t spend much time sitting down. There is always a bucket to move or a gate to check. It’s a simple life, focused on the animals and making sure the milk is fresh for the morning delivery. That’s what we do here every day without fail. It is hard work but it is what my family has always known.
