Sajjan Raj & Company

You can find Sajjan Raj & Company over at 55 Jangiwada, right near the Jalori Darwaja. This is one of those spots in the old city where the streets tell a lot of stories. The gate itself is a massive landmark, so it’s hard to miss the general area. Our shop is in a bit of a maze of lanes, but once you find us, it’s a solid old building. We’ve been here for a very long time, and the place hasn't changed much since my father’s time. We have wooden counters and shelves that have seen better days, but they do the job. We deal in various items, mostly traditional things that people in this part of town still look for. It’s not the kind of place with bright neon signs or glass doors. We keep the doors open to the street so the air can circulate, even if it brings in the noise of the scooters. Usually, we spend our mornings sorting through things and talking to the people who walk by. It’s a community here. We know the guy selling snacks on the corner and the tea stall owner. It’s a humble business and we don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide what we have from our spot at number 55 and hope it’s what people need that day. It's a bit of a slow pace, but we like it that way.
