Our shop is located in M Ram Market, right across from the post office in Surajpole. Being near the post office is handy because people often come in to buy a card right before they go to mail something. It’s a small place, and the walls are covered with all kinds of greeting cards. We have some gift items too, mostly small things that fit on the counter. The floor is made of old tiles that have a few cracks here and there. I’ve been working here for years, and I know the faces of the post office workers well. We don't have any fancy displays or expensive lighting. It’s just a regular shop with a lot of paper and cardboard. The street outside is usually full of people and scooters. I keep a small stool behind the counter where I sit when it’s quiet. Sometimes the wind blows the cards around if I leave the door open too wide. We don't really do any marketing; people just see the sign when they're going to the post office. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We handle a lot of small change and talk to a lot of people passing through the market. It’s not a polished store, but it serves the neighborhood well enough. We just keep the shelves stocked and wait for the next customer. The tea stall nearby keeps me going through the long afternoons.
