Talk about the shop on Sadri Road in Bali. We’ve been here quite a while now. Most days start around ten when I unlock the metal shutter. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty early in the morning. We have lots of imitation jewelry, like those gold-look necklaces and different types of bangles. People come in mostly when there is a wedding or a big festival in town. Sometimes the road gets really dusty because of all the traffic going toward the center of Bali, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the glass cases. It is just a small place, really. My nephew helps out on some afternoons when it gets a bit busy. We keep a good stock of earrings because that is what the younger girls are always looking for. It isn’t anything fancy inside, just some simple shelves and a few fans to keep the air moving. We know most of the people who walk past every day. Sometimes they just stop to say hello or ask about the weather. Usually, we stay open until the sun goes down and the street lights come on. It’s a steady life here. We try to keep prices fair because everyone in Bali knows everyone else. If a chain breaks or a stone falls out later, people just bring it back and we see what we can do to fix it. It's just how things work on Sadri Road. We don't have a website, just the shop here.
