Our shop sits on the road between Sadri and Falna. It is a good spot because people traveling between the two towns often stop for a break. We started this place with just a small counter and a single stove. Over time, we added more space and a few more items to the list. We mostly make traditional sweets that stay fresh for a few days, which is good for travelers. The milk we use comes from the local dairies every morning. We do not like using the packaged stuff if we can help it. The taste is not the same. My wife helps me with the preparation and our nephew handles the customers during the busy hours. It is a quiet life mostly, except when the tourist buses stop by. Then everything becomes very fast and we have to pack boxes as quickly as we can. We keep the shop open quite late because the road stays active. We do not have a big fancy sign, just a simple one that says Parang Sweets. Most people know where we are anyway. We try to keep the place clean and tidy, but sometimes the dust from the road makes it hard. We just keep a rag handy and wipe the counters down whenever we get a second. It is a simple business and we are happy to be part of the community here. If you are passing through, you are welcome to stop.
