You can find us at Desasar Gali number 7 near the Pani Darwaza area. This part of town is full of old stories and narrow lanes that we know by heart. We are into music and everything that goes with it. Being a sangeetkar means our lives revolve around notes and instruments. It is a humble place we have here but it is filled with sound all day long. Sometimes students come by to learn and other times we are just practicing for a performance. The walls are thin so the neighbors definitely hear us playing. Most of the time they don't mind the noise. Living and working in such a historic part of the city gives the music a different feel. We don't have any fancy recording studios with soundproofing just a room where we sit on the floor and play. It’s been this way for a long time. People who want traditional music or need someone for a ceremony usually find their way to our door in the lane. We don't use much technology besides some old speakers and maybe a recording device now and then. It’s more about the rhythm and the voice than anything else. Life moves a bit slower in Gali 7 and we like it that way. If you walk past Pani Darwaza you might hear some singing coming from our direction. It is just what we do every single day and we hope to keep at it for years.
