About Nandani Kirana Store – Food & Beverages in Pali
Our shop is located right in the Housing Board area, which is a good spot because of all the families living in the blocks around us. We see the same faces every morning when the milk arrives. It's a small kirana store, so it gets a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once. We have shelves lining every wall, packed with everything from toothbrushes to bags of rice. The ceiling is a bit low, and we hang packets of chips and snacks from the rafters to save space. It can be a bit of a mess sometimes when we get a new shipment in and there’s nowhere to put the boxes. We usually have a radio playing some old songs quietly in the background while we weigh out the sugar or dal. There is a small stool behind the counter where I sit when things are slow, usually checking the stock list. The kids from the housing board often stop by with a few coins to buy some small sweets or a pencil for school. We don't have any fancy computer systems; everything is written down in a thick ledger book with a red cover. It’s just a normal neighborhood shop where people come to chat for a minute while they buy their bread and eggs. We stay open until late so the people coming home from work can grab what they need.
