Namdev Screen Art

If you head over to Paliwalon Ka Bas and look for number 12, that’s where you’ll find Namdev Screen Art. It’s a workshop more than anything else. You can usually smell the ink before you even walk through the door. We spend our days getting our hands dirty with screens, squeegees, and various types of paint. It’s old-school work, and we like it that way. We do a lot of printing for local groups, schools, and small businesses that need shirts or posters made up. It’s not a quiet job; there’s always the sound of frames clicking and the dryer humming in the background. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most people just come into the back where we’re working to show us what they need. We try to be honest about how long things will take. If we're backed up, we’ll tell you. We don’t like overpromising and then letting people down. The space is a bit cramped with all the supplies we keep on hand, but it’s functional. We’ve learned a lot over the years about what works on different fabrics and papers. It’s just a small local business, run by people who enjoy seeing a finished print come off the line. No big corporate goals here, just good, honest labor. We sometimes get ink on our clothes and the floors are stained, but that’s just how a real print shop looks when it's being used.
