About My Store General Item – Housewares & Supplies in Pali
We have been running My Store General Item for quite some time now, right here at the Old Bus Stand on Navlakha Road. It is a busy spot, especially around number 68 where the buses pull in and out all day long. The shop itself is nothing too special to look at, just a basic room filled with all sorts of things people might need. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, packed with soap, small bags of flour, notebooks, and plastic toys. It gets a bit crowded when more than three people come in at once. The floor is made of old stone that has worn down over the years from all the walking. We spend a lot of our morning just dusting the glass jars because the road outside is always kicking up dirt. The bus drivers often shout to each other while we are trying to count the change. It is loud and dusty, but it is our daily life. We have an old wooden chair behind the counter where we sit during the quiet hours in the afternoon. Sometimes we just watch the people waiting for their ride across the street. We don't have a website or any fancy machines, just a pen and a notebook to keep track of what we owe the suppliers. It is just a simple way to stay busy and help the folks who are traveling through or living nearby. The door squeaks every time someone comes in.
