Mohd Shafeeque

We are located right over by the Old Bus Stand in Nadi Mohalla. Our place is number 101. If you know the area, you know it’s never quiet. There are buses pulling in and out all day long, and the noise of the conductors shouting is just part of our background music. My name is Mohd Shafeeque, and I’ve been running things here for a good while. The office isn't much to look at. It’s a bit cramped with stacks of papers and old ledgers that I haven't quite found a place for yet. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside in the shade for a bit until it comes back on. It’s a friendly neighborhood, though. Everyone knows everyone else’s business. I usually have my lunch brought from home in a steel tiffin, and the smell of home cooking fills the small room. My neighbors in Nadi Mohalla are good people who have seen me grow this small business from nothing. We don't have any fancy brochures or a website. Most people find us by word of mouth or by just walking past the bus stand and seeing me at my desk. It’s a bit dusty and loud, but it’s where we belong. I spend most of my time talking to people and trying to stay organized. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy from morning till evening every single day.
