Mandiya Road is where you will find us at E-158A. It is a long stretch of road with a lot of textile factories one after the other. We are just one small part of that big chain. The mill has been running for a bit now. We spend the whole day surrounded by the smell of raw fabric and the sound of the looms. It’s not a quiet job. The floor is usually covered in lint and we have to sweep it every few hours. We don’t have a big website or a social media team. We just talk to the people who buy from us and that’s enough. The air is thick sometimes, and the sun beats down on the metal roof, making it quite warm inside. We have big fans, but they just move the warm air around. Still, the work is steady. We have a rhythm to the day. Load the machines, watch them run, fix the snags. It’s repetitive but it keeps us busy. Most of the guys here live nearby and walk to work. We know each other's families. It feels more like a community than a company. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We make cloth. That is it. If the machines are running well, it is a good day. If they aren't, we spend the day with a wrench in hand. It is just honest labor.
