Mamta Kirana Store

Out on Mandia Road, near the Kodia Bala ji area, is where we have Mamta Kirana Store. It is a local shop that stocks all the basic things a house needs. We have bags of sugar, different kinds of dals, and big tins of oil stacked up near the entrance. The location is good because people coming back from the temple often stop by to pick up stuff they forgot earlier in the day. We spend a lot of time weighing out items on the scale and tying them up in small bags. It is a bit of a dusty road, so we are always dusting off the jars of candy and biscuits on the front counter. We have a small fridge for cold drinks, which is very popular during the summer months when it gets really hot. The shop doesn't have a lot of room to move around, especially when a delivery comes in and there are boxes everywhere. We just pile them up and work around them until everything is put away. We've been here for several years now and have a good rhythm going. My brother and I take turns behind the counter so the shop stays open all day. We don't do anything special, just sell groceries at fair prices and talk to the neighbors. It is a decent life and we stay quite busy with the daily chores of keeping the stock sorted and the shop clean for everyone.
