Mahalaxmi Battery House

We are over here at Station Road near Subhash Circle. It is mostly just about batteries here, all kinds for cars and bikes or whatever else needs power. The shop is small and it gets quite dusty because of all the traffic passing by the circle every day. Most mornings start with moving heavy stuff around to make space. It’s not a fancy place but we have been around for a while now. People usually come in when their vehicle won't start or the power goes out at home and they need a quick fix. We spend a lot of time checking terminals and refilling distilled water. Sometimes the floor gets a bit stained from the acid but that is just how it is in this line of work. It is loud outside with the horns honking but inside we just focus on the testing machines. If you walk past the circle you will see us right there. We don't have much of a waiting area so people usually just stand on the pavement and chat while we look at their battery. It is a simple life and the work is heavy. We keep the doors open all day for the breeze. There is always someone coming in asking for a jump start or a new casing. We just do what needs doing and try to keep things moving along for everyone. It's a living and we know our regulars well. Sometimes the rain comes in and we have to scurry to move the stock back, but mostly it's just sunshine and work.
