We are located at 46 Zarda Bazar. This street is known for a lot of things, and our little gift shop has been a part of it for a while now. The shop front isn't very wide, but the store goes back quite a bit. I spend most of my day sitting near the entrance. We have rows of shelves with various gift items, from clocks to small figurines. The lighting inside is a bit yellow, which gives it an old feel. Sometimes the boxes from new shipments sit on the floor for a few days before I get around to unpacking them. It's a one-man show mostly, though my nephew helps out on the weekends. We don't do big advertising. Most people just wander in while they are doing their other shopping in the market. The sign outside is a little crooked, but everyone knows it's us. I like the rhythm of the bazar, with the sounds of carts and people talking loudly. It’s a practical place. If someone needs a gift wrapped, I do it myself, though I’m not the fastest at it. We try to keep things simple and honest. There’s no air conditioning, just a big standing fan that keeps the air moving. It’s homey in its own way, even with all the clutter. We've seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. It's just home for me.
