Madan Singh Rajpurohit

Down in Nadol, specifically in the area known as Purohito Ka Bas, is where Madan Singh Rajpurohit operates. It’s a quiet part of the world compared to the big cities. The roads are mostly dirt and can get quite muddy when the monsoon hits. Our building is an old stone structure that stays surprisingly cool even when the sun is beating down outside. Inside, it’s mostly just a large room with some heavy wooden furniture that’s been passed down through the family. We don’t have much in the way of modern technology, just the basics to keep things running properly. Madan Singh Rajpurohit is usually sitting near the entrance so he can talk to anyone walking by on the street. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and we don't follow a strict schedule like they do in the city. If someone needs something, they just come to Purohito Ka Bas and look for us by name. We drink a lot of tea and spend time talking about the weather or how the crops are doing this season. It’s a lifestyle as much as it is a business. There’s a certain rhythm to life here in Nadol that we’ve all grown accustomed to over the many years we have been here. We aren't trying to be anything other than what we are, just local folks doing our thing in our own corner of the world without any rush.
