Being near the Old Bus Stand means it’s never quiet. You hear the horns and the conductors shouting all day long. M Rankawat Point is right there, near the Navlakha Road junction. We’ve been at 73 for a good while now. The mornings are the busiest when the first buses arrive from the villages. Everyone is in a rush. We see people carrying big bags and kids running around. The shop isn't very large, but it’s ours. We usually have a tea stall nearby that brings us chai around ten. That’s a good part of the day. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to actually do it. We are usually busy checking our papers or talking to someone who stopped by. It is a bit cramped inside with all the stuff we have to keep. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to move everything back from the door so it doesn't get wet. People know us by name around here. It’s not like those big malls. It's just a regular spot where we do our business. Navlakha Road has a lot of traffic, so crossing the street is always a challenge. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a loud place to work, but you get used to the noise after a few weeks. We just try to stay busy and helpful.
