M B C Battery is situated at Shiv Circle in Sojat City. It’s a place that smells of lead and acid, which is just part of the job when you handle batteries all day. I deal with everything from the heavy batteries used in trucks to the smaller ones for home inverters. The shop is mostly just a concrete floor with stacks of black and grey battery cases piled up. I spend a lot of my time checking voltage levels and topping up distilled water. Shiv Circle is a busy junction, so there’s always the sound of horns and engines outside. People usually come to me when they’re in a bit of a fix—their car won't start or the power went out and their inverter failed. I have some heavy tools scattered around the workbench and my clothes usually have a few small holes from the battery acid. It’s physical work, lifting those heavy units and moving them onto the charging racks. I don’t have much in the way of a front office; it’s mostly just the workshop space where the work gets done. Sometimes I have to go out to someone’s house or a broken-down vehicle nearby to help them out. Sojat City can get incredibly hot, and working around charging batteries makes it even warmer in here. I just keep a bottle of water handy and keep moving the stock. It’s a straightforward business, focused on keeping things running.
