Kamlesh Tea Company

If you are walking down Post Office Road in Pali, you’ll find us near the B.M.G. Hospital. We are also quite close to the police station, so it’s a fairly easy spot to find if you’re local. Kamlesh Tea Company has been operating out of this small building in Ramnagar for quite some time now. It’s not a big setup, just a couple of rooms filled with tea supplies and some old wooden furniture that has seen better days. We start our mornings by opening the heavy shutters and letting the fresh air in. The street gets quite busy with people heading to the hospital or the post office. We don’t do much advertising; people around Pali just know we are here. Most of our day is spent weighing out tea and talking to the delivery drivers who bring in the stock. We keep a ledger for everything because that’s how we’ve always done it. It’s dusty work, and your clothes usually end up smelling like tea leaves by the end of the shift. We don't have a website or anything like that, just a phone that rings when someone needs something. It’s a practical way to run things. We are just local people doing our bit. There isn't any big story behind it, we just opened the shop one day and kept going. Sometimes the roof leaks a bit during heavy rain, but we just move the bags around and keep working.
