Jain Natural Ice Cream

You can find Jain Natural Ice Cream over at the Old Bus Stand, specifically near Tanga Stand 5. It is a very busy and loud part of town. There are buses coming and going all the time, and the horses at the tanga stand make quite a bit of noise. Our shop is like a small escape from all that heat and dust. We have our freezers lined up and we spend the day scooping out ice cream for people who are waiting for their transport. We try to use natural ingredients because that is how we have always done it. The shop is quite narrow, so it can get a bit cramped when a whole family walks in. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of fans that struggle against the afternoon sun. The floor often has a few sticky spots from melted ice cream, but we try to mop it up when we can. Kids are our most frequent customers, and they usually make a bit of a mess, but we don't mind much. It is a basic setup with simple chairs that have seen better days. People don't stay long; they just finish their cup or cone and head back to the buses. Working at the Tanga Stand means there is never a dull moment, and we are just glad to provide something cold in such a hot place. It gets tiring by the evening but we keep going.
