Goyal Eye Hospital

It's usually quite busy here at the eye hospital in Pali City. We are right by the BSNL godown, so people usually find us without too much trouble. Every morning we open up the shutters and get things ready for the folks waiting outside. Most people come in because they can't see the newspaper clearly anymore or their kids are squinting at the chalkboard in school. We have a few chairs in the waiting area that get filled up pretty fast. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when everyone is talking at once. The doctors here just go through the list one by one. It isn't a fancy place with marble floors or anything like that. We just have our equipment and the desks where we write down the prescriptions. The lights are bright in the exam rooms which is necessary for the work. Outside, the street is usually dusty and you can hear the traffic from the main part of Pali. We try to keep the fans running so nobody gets too hot while they wait their turn. Sometimes someone brings in a pair of broken glasses and we see if they can be fixed or if they need new ones. It is just a regular day-to-day operation here. We spend a lot of time looking at charts and cleaning the lenses. It feels good when someone puts on a new pair of specs and can finally read the signs down the road.
