Dinesh Sweet Home

Dinesh Sweet Home is located right by the Chand Pole Gate in Sojat City. It is one of those spots that everyone in the area knows because the gate is such a big landmark. We open up early because the morning crowd is always looking for something fresh. The shop has been a part of this street for a long time. We spend most of our time in the back area where the large containers of milk and sugar are kept. Making sweets is a slow process and you cannot really rush it if you want it to turn out right. The shop itself is simple, with glass displays that we try to keep clean, though the dust from the street always finds a way in. We see all kinds of people coming through the gate, from travelers to locals who have lived here their whole lives. It gets loud with the motorbikes and the people shouting outside, but inside we just focus on the scales and the packaging. We don't really do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are and they come by when they need a treat for a festival or just for tea time. It is a small family-run kind of thing, and we are just happy to be part of the daily life here at Chand Pole. The work is steady and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset.
