Dave Travels

If you know Rani Pratap Bazar, you know it is always crowded and a bit chaotic. That’s exactly where Dave Travels is located. Years have gone by with us in this spot, and the noise from the market outside never really stops. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but not by much. There are posters of different cities on the walls that have been there so long they’ve faded from the sun. Our desks are old wood. We still use paper diaries to jot down notes while we’re talking to people. A lot of local travel passes through here, mostly buses and car rentals for people who need to get out of the city for a few days. High-tech setups aren't really our thing. Relationships with drivers built over the years matter more than fancy software to us. When the phone lines go down during a rainstorm, someone has to run out to the shop next door to use theirs. It’s just the way things work around here. No one tries to act like a big international company. We are just a local travel shop in the middle of a busy bazar. People drop in while they are doing their shopping to ask about ticket prices. We’re happy to chat with them. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us connected to the area. Some days are long, but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if we weren't here in the bazaar.
