Chamunda Fancy Store

Chamunda Fancy Store is located on Punayata Road, right near the Mehandi Wala Jav area. It is a small place but we have it filled up with all the things people in this neighborhood look for every day. We carry items like thread, different kinds of bangles, and small things for the house. The street outside gets quite dusty because of all the traffic passing through, so a lot of my morning is spent just wiping down the counters and shelves before the first people start arriving. Most of the folks who stop by live right around here. They know us and we have gotten to know them over the years. It is not a fancy place even if the name says so. We just have simple metal and wood shelves piled up with stock. Some days are slower than others, especially when the sun is really hot in the afternoon. During those times, I just sit on my stool and wait for the heat to go down. That is usually when the women come out to shop for their matching items for weddings or festivals. We do not have a big team here, just me and sometimes a family member helps out with the heavy boxes. It is hard to keep everything perfectly neat with so many small pieces, but we try our best. If you need something very specific, you might have to help me look through a few drawers. We have been in this building for a long time. It’s just a regular life on Punayata Road.
