Bombay Novelty Store

Bombay Novelty Store is located in the Super Market area on the Main Bazar of Sojat Road. It is a very lively part of the town to be in. We keep a lot of different things here, mostly novelties and various gift items that you usually would not find in a regular grocery shop. The shop is quite narrow, so we have had to use every single inch of the wall space for storage. We have hooks everywhere with items hanging down from the ceiling. You really have to be careful not to bump your head if you are a tall person. I have been working in this shop for many years now and I still occasionally forget exactly where I tucked a specific item away. The Super Market area is always buzzing with the sound of people talking and motorbikes revving. I usually have to park my own cycle a few streets away because there is never any room left in front of the door. We do not use any fancy computer systems for our sales. I still write every single thing down in a big paper ledger book at the end of every day. The lights inside are those old long tubes that flicker for a bit when you first flip the switch. It gives the shop a very familiar and comfortable feel. We get a lot of school children coming in to look for small toys or stickers. It is a simple life keeping the shelves full.
