Bheruji Kirana Store

Bheruji Kirana Store is right near the New Bus Stand in Keshar Nagar. It's a handy spot because people are always coming and going from the buses. We sell the usual stuff like flour, pulses, soaps, and biscuits. The shelves are pretty high, so I have to use a stool sometimes. It's a busy corner. During the mornings, it's mostly local ladies buying things for lunch. In the evening, it's the commuters. I’ve lived in Keshar Nagar for a long time, so I know most of the faces. The store isn't very big, but we try to keep everything people need daily. Sometimes the bags of rice are heavy to move around. I usually have a radio playing in the background. It gets hot in the afternoons, so I keep the fan running at full speed. We get our deliveries twice a week. That’s when it gets really crowded in here with all the crates and boxes blocking the way. I’ve been thinking about painting the front door, but haven't gotten around to it yet. It stays a bit dusty because of the buses kicking up dirt. But that's just how it is. We don't do any big advertising. People just know we are here. If someone is short a few rupees, we usually just write it down for next time. It’s a friendly place. We just keep things moving and make sure the items are on the shelf before the next bus pulls in. It is a long day for us.
