Bajarang Kirana Store

Bajarang Kirana Store is sitting right here on Ramdev Road. It’s a typical neighborhood shop where we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves for the local families. You’ll find big open sacks of rice and lentils near the front door, and the smell of various spices is pretty strong as soon as you step inside. I spend a lot of my morning just weighing out portions into small plastic bags and tying them up. The shelves are a bit crowded, and sometimes things get tucked behind other things, so I have to go hunting for a specific brand of tea or a packet of biscuits. Ramdev Road is a good spot, plenty of families living around here who drop in for their daily needs. We have an old ledger where we keep track of what people owe, written in messy handwriting that only I can really read. The refrigerator for the milk and cold drinks hums pretty loudly, and I have to give it a little kick now and then to keep it quiet. We don't have fancy shopping carts or anything, people just tell me what they need and I go grab it from the back. It’s a simple way of doing things that works for us. Sometimes the kids come in after school for sweets or chips, and the place gets a bit loud for a few minutes. It’s just a regular store, nothing special to look at, but we’ve been part of this street for a long time and we like the people around here.
