B M B Sweet

B M B Sweet is tucked away over at Mill Gate. It’s an old part of the neighborhood and we’ve been part of it for a long time. The shop is small and it’s mostly just the display cases and the space behind them where we stand. We don't have much room for seating, so most people just grab what they want and go. We focus on the sweets that people around here like the most. There’s no fancy marketing or brand story here, just a lot of boiling milk and stirring sugar. The air near Mill Gate is always a bit heavy, but inside the shop, it smells like cardamom and ghee. We don't use any modern gadgets; we do it the way we were taught. It’s hard on the back sometimes, standing all day, but it’s what we do. We see the workers from the nearby factories coming in for a quick bite before their shifts. We try to keep the place looking decent, though the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon. We don’t pretend to be the biggest or the best, we just stay open and keep the trays full. There is always something to fry or bake.
