Anil Provision Stores

Anil Provision Stores is tucked away on Subhash Marg along Sojat Road. It’s a typical neighborhood shop where the shelves are packed from the floor all the way up to the ceiling. We have bags of rice and flour sitting on the floor, and the smell of spices and soaps is always in the air. People come in with their handwritten lists, and we spend our time weighing out pulses or grabbing tins from the high shelves. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around, but we are used to the physical work. We know most of the people who come in by their first names because they’ve been shopping here for years. We don't have fancy scanners or a computer system; we just use a notebook and a pen to keep track of things. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once, but everyone just waits their turn. Subhash Marg is a busy little street, and we are right in the middle of it. We open early so people can get what they need before they start their day. It’s not about having every single brand in the world, just the things our neighbors actually use in their kitchens. We keep things simple, work hard, and try to make sure we don't run out of the basics like oil and salt.
