Unique Arts

Unique Arts is over in Nalasopara, specifically at No. B-106 in Tuljechwar Hill, Ambawadi. We are right near the Bank of Maharashtra on Tuling Road. It’s a bit of a climb if you are walking, but the view of the hill is nice. We do different kinds of artistic work and custom designs. Our workshop is usually covered in scraps of paper, paint, and whatever materials we are using that week. It’s a bit of a creative mess, honestly. We don't have a big showroom. Most of our work is done on the tables we’ve set up in the main room. We like being in Nalasopara because it’s a bit more relaxed than being right in the middle of Mumbai. We spend hours trying to get the details right on a project. Sometimes we lose track of time and find ourselves still working when the sun goes down. People drop by to see what we are making or to ask if we can do a specific design for them. We don't have a lot of rules about how we work. We just start with an idea and see where it goes. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We play some music, drink a lot of tea, and just focus on the craft. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors don't mind the occasional noise or the smell of the glue we use.
