Stores Officer

I’m the Stores Officer based out of Bhayendar East in Thane. My office is basically in Sonal Park, Building Number 3, Quarter G-9. If you know S.V. Road, you know how loud and busy it gets. It is a constant stream of traffic right outside our door. Being a stores officer here means I’m always juggling things. Space is tight in these buildings, so I have to be really smart about where I put everything that arrives. I spend most of my time checking incoming shipments. The guys on the trucks are always in a hurry because of the traffic rules. I’ve got my ledgers and my stamps, and I make sure everything is legal and correct. It’s a lot of responsibility because if the stock is wrong, the whole project slows down. I don’t have a big staff, just me and a helper sometimes. The room gets a bit cramped when a big shipment arrives. I’ve lived in Thane for a long time, so I’m used to the humidity and the crowds. It’s just part of the job. I try to keep the place organized, but with so many items coming in, it is a constant battle. I’m usually there from early morning until the last truck leaves the gate. It is not a glamorous job, but it is important to keep the gears turning. I just focus on the lists and the boxes.
