Standard Dealers is run out of Gaurav Galaxy Chs Ltd in Mumbai. We’re in room 404/C. It’s more of an office setup than a shop, which is common enough in this part of the city. We deal in a lot of different industrial goods and supplies. It’s mostly about knowing who has what and getting it to the people who need it. The phone is usually our main tool. We spend hours talking to suppliers and checking on orders. It’s a small operation, just a few of us in the room. We’ve been at this for a while, so we know the trade pretty well. The neighborhood is typical Mumbai—lots of people, lots of noise, and not enough parking. We don’t have a big showroom or anything. People mostly find us through word of mouth. We don’t do fancy sales pitches. We just tell people what we can get and how long it will take. Sometimes deliveries get stuck in traffic, which is just part of living here. We try to be as helpful as we can. It’s not a complicated business model. We buy stuff, we sell stuff, and we try to make sure everyone is happy with the price. It’s just regular daily work for us, and it keeps the lights on.
