Samod Organic Spices

At Samod Organic Spices, we work out of a spot near Ramdev Park in Bhayandar East. It’s a lively neighborhood, and having the park nearby is nice for a bit of fresh air when the spice dust gets too thick. We focus on organic stuff, which means we spend a lot of time verifying where our supplies come from. It’s a lot of work to keep everything separate and clean. The shop in Mira Bhayandar is usually busy in the evenings when people are heading home from work and stop in to grab some fresh spices for dinner. We do a lot of the grinding and mixing right here, so there’s always a rhythmic thumping sound coming from the back. It’s not a large operation. It is just a few of us handling the weighing and the sealing of the pouches. Sometimes we run out of a certain spice and have to tell people to come back next week, which they usually don't mind too much. We try to keep the place organized, but with so many different jars and bags, it can get a bit cluttered. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket. We just want to provide the people in Bhayandar East with something decent they can use in their cooking. It is a simple life, mostly spent surrounded by the smell of coriander and cumin, making sure every bag is filled to the right weight.
