New Sheetal Sweets And Bakers is located over at Shop 20-21 on the Kashimira Mira Bhayandar Road. It’s a pretty busy stretch of road, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading back home. The shop has two units joined together, which gives us a bit more room for the display cases and the racks. Most of the time, the air smells like sugar and whatever is being baked in the back. We have to start early to get the shelves stocked before the first customers walk in. It's a lot of lifting trays and moving boxes around. The floor gets a bit sticky sometimes, so we’re always mopping it up. The lights in the shop are bright so people can see what’s in the glass cases from the sidewalk. We see a lot of the same faces every day, neighbors mostly, or people stopping their bikes to grab something quick for their families. It gets a bit chaotic during the festival seasons, but usually, it's just a steady flow of people. We don’t have much time for sitting down. There’s always a tray to wash or a shelf to straighten out. We just try to keep things moving and make sure there’s enough on the shelves for whoever walks in next. It’s simple work, but it keeps us on our feet all day long.
