Out here at 6, Shukla Wadi, things stay pretty busy throughout the week. Being in 70 Gala on Mahim Road means there is always noise from trucks and people moving crates around. We handle batteries of all sizes, and let me tell you, they are heavy to lift. The space isn’t very large, so we have to stack things carefully to make sure there is room to walk. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually have a few fans going at full speed, though they mostly just push the warm air around. There is no big sign out front or a lobby for people to wait in. You just step inside and talk to whoever isn't carrying something at the moment. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. The floor is stained with a bit of everything, but that’s expected in this line of work. We keep a ledger on a wooden desk that’s seen better days. It is a practical environment where we focus on getting the batteries tested and moved out to the customers. We don't use computers for every little thing; sometimes a handwritten note is faster. When the rain comes down hard on the roof, it gets so loud we can barely hear each other, but we just keep working. It is just a group of us trying to stay on top of the orders that come in daily.
