Our place is Unit No 6 in the Nirav Ind Estate, which is right near the Gaondevi mandir in Sativali, Vasai East. Being in an industrial estate means things are always moving. You can hear the sounds of other workshops and the trucks coming in and out all day. We deal with LED products, so our unit is usually bright with testing different units. There are benches set up for checking the lights and plenty of shelves for the finished stock. It’s a bit dusty because of the location, but we don't mind much. The Gaondevi mandir is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We have a small crew and we usually start pretty early to beat the afternoon heat. It’s a hands-on kind of job. We spend a lot of time with screwdrivers and testing equipment. Sometimes the rains make it hard to get around the estate, but we manage. We aren't trying to be some high-tech flashy company. We are just a local manufacturer making things that work. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad. We just focus on the production line and making sure the boxes are packed right. It’s a steady rhythm here in Vasai East and we’ve gotten quite used to the local pace of things. Lunchtime is usually just sitting on the crates and talking about the weekend. It's a decent place to earn a living.
