Dhaybar Children Hospital

If you are driving on the Pune Nashik Highway through Mancher, you’ll see us right opposite the old police station. It’s a busy spot with lots of dust from the road. Inside, we try to keep things a bit more cheerful for the kids, but it’s still just a hospital. We have some colorful stickers on the walls that are starting to peel at the edges. There’s always the sound of a baby crying or a toddler running down the hall. We spend a lot of time talking to parents who are worried about their little ones. The furniture is sized for small people, which makes the rooms look a bit funny. We have a small play area in the corner with some blocks and old magazines. The staff is used to the chaos. We get a lot of people stopping by because we are right on the highway. It’s a lot of checking temperatures and giving out small rewards to kids who were brave. The floor is usually a bit sticky by mid-day because of spilled juice or sweets. We don't have a big fancy lobby, just a front desk where the ledger sits. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is bad and the road gets flooded. We just keep going, day after day, helping the families in Mancher get through their illnesses. It stays pretty loud until we close up for the night.
