Our setup is based in the Richa Trade Centre out in Waliv. We are on the second floor of building number 13, in gala number 206. This is where we handle the export of carpets. It’s an industrial sort of area, so it’s perfect for moving large items around. The office and the storage space are pretty much together. We spend a lot of time looking at different patterns and checking the weave of the carpets we get in. It’s a hands-on kind of business. We aren't sitting in a fancy glass building in the city. We’re out here where the actual work happens. The dust from the carpets can be a bit much sometimes, but that’s part of the trade. We deal with various weavers and then coordinate the shipping to places outside India. It’s interesting to see where the stuff ends up. We don't have a marketing department; we just rely on the quality of what we send out. Sometimes the logistics of moving heavy carpets can be a real pain, especially during the monsoon when everything needs to stay dry. We’ve had to figure out a lot of things by trial and error over the years. We’re just a small group of people who know a bit about carpets and how to ship them. It’s simple, honest work and we like it that way.
