Bhagyaraj Social Welfare Foundation

Bhagyaraj Social Welfare Foundation is based out of Virar East, specifically in Sai Unique Tower. If you’ve ever been to Virar, you know the train commute is no joke, and the area around the station is always humming with people at all hours. We’re in Room 105. It’s a decent building, though the lift acts up sometimes when the power fluctuates, which happens more than we’d like. We focus on social welfare, which basically means we help out with whatever pops up in the community. Some days it’s organizing a small blood drive, and other days it’s just helping an elderly person figure out their pension paperwork. We have a couple of old computers that take forever to start up, but they work well enough for what we need to get done. The walls are a bit bare, and we haven't really bothered with decorations or fancy paint. We’d rather spend the little funds we have on the actual work. Our team is just a handful of locals who wanted to do something useful with their spare time after their day jobs. We often stay late, past the time the streetlights come on, just finishing up files. It’s a lot of talking to people, listening to their stories, and seeing what can be done. It’s not glamorous work, and we often go home tired and dusty from the Virar roads, but it feels right. We just do what we can with the space we have.
