Asha Jeevan Welfare Foundation

Our foundation is at A-001 in the Neel Nayan Dewan building, located in Vasant Nagari, Vasai East. Being on the ground floor is great because we don't have to worry about the building's lift. It’s a fairly quiet residential area, which is nice for the kind of welfare work we do. Our office is basically a small apartment that we've filled with desks and storage cabinets. We’ve got a lot of files piled up because there’s always more paperwork than we expect. The lighting isn't the best in the back room, but we’ve added a few extra lamps to help. There's a small parking area outside where we can leave our scooters. Most of our days are spent talking to local families or organizing the different programs we run. It’s not a very formal place. You might find us having a quick lunch at our desks or sorting through donations in the corner. We don't have a professional cleaning crew or a fancy coffee machine. We just sweep the floors ourselves and make tea in the small kitchen area. It feels like a very natural way to work. People from Vasant Nagari often drop by just to say hello or ask a quick question. We like being accessible like that. It’s a simple, local operation and we’re happy to be part of the neighborhood here in Vasai.
